sometimes
-- Tara --

Sometimes the wind comes in
messes with my hair,
Sometimes I can't fix it, Sometimes I don't care,
If the things I had done were out of love,
the wind would never come,
But I am only human and sometimes I am dumb.

Sometimes my eyes don't open,
wide enough to see truth,
Sometimes I want them closed,
Sometimes truth shines through,
I can't help but tell exaggerations and perpetually dream,
After all I am only human and sometimes I am less than I seem.

Sometimes I listen too hard,
hear things that aren't there,
Sometimes it means something,
Sometimes it's just air,
If only I took the time to hear me instead of them,
Then maybe I would feel the need to praise,
not self-condemn.
