Listen
Can I scream?
No, that would be too loud.
Can I cry?
No, that would be too loud.
I feel like I should.
I feel like I need to.
I am scared
unsure
insecure
I am afraid that you won’t
love me
like me
care for me
Maybe you hate me
do you?
I want you to hear me
Because sometimes you don’t
Not just listen, hear.
I want you to appreciate me
Because sometimes you don’t.

Silence echoes
through my ears
Time passes
through the years
Still life is hectic
Everyone sheds a tear,
for the one
who still longs
to have no fear.

If dreams were life,
Mine would be great,
I would sit on a star and drink lemonade,
I would watch the wind blow,
Through the trees,
And make everyone smile with the greatest of ease.

If dreams were life,
I wouldn't believe,
In all the things displayed on TV.
Everyone would love themselves and everything they had,
Because life wouldn't be about how much money you have.

If dreams were life,
We would all be united,
And our hate towards each other,
Would be a million times divided.

If dreams were life,
A blink would send me flying,
Across the cherry mist sky,
Before I woke up crying.
