ad-vo-cate

/ad va kit/ [MF advocat < L advocatus, pp of advocare to summon] n to speak in favor of; recommend / to argue for a cause; supporter or defender /an intercessor; to plead in another's behalf

BINGO! an OTHER--what other--why the other self, the hidden self, the shamed self, the taunted self, the scapegoated self, the self that can hardly think of itself but for centuries-old thinking that, for one reason or another, prohibited thinking clearly of that self, that other which is an essential part of our real identity--the part that got rusty, if barely formed, the part that FEELS AND KNOWS IT! That's the part, the feeling part that needs a champion, a speaker, an advocator.

T.R.N. is dedicated to pronouncing that part, that other: like any other that is persecuted, censored, held apart, The Radical Nurturer welcomes that very part into the fold to be recognized by none other than our own minds. To notice oneself, one's feeling self with one's own mind, on a regular basis,is to secure a loyal audience--a witness. Kurt Cobain had a million spectators but not one witness. T.R.N. is a witness. Speaking about feelings is not the same as having feelings but announcing their arrival welcomes them home.
